Six Day Global Warming Exhibition
Saturday, 7th July
- 12:30 to 11 pm
Sunday 8th July until Thurs 12th July 2007
- 10 am to 5 pm
The exhibition presents current knowledge about the causes and impacts
of climate change and potential human responses to mitigate its harmful
effects. The exhibition will display renewable energy technologies,
conservation techniques and demonstrate how to become part of the solution.

'Live Earth' Community Day
Saturday, 07/07/07
- 12:30 to 11 pm
Seminars and workshops during the afternoon will offer a series of provocative and thoughtful discussions
and activities.
During the presentation and judging of the song writing and the school competitions
over one thousand dollars worth of prizes will be given away.
A kidz-zone will feature hands-on activities that explore climate change through
creative and fun activities.
Throughout the day and in the evening there is a variety of live musicians and performers.
This local community day coincides
with Al Gore's worldwide climate change action day featuring
'Live Earth' concerts in seven continents.

Market Day with Live Music and Workshops
Sunday, 8th July 2007
- 10 am to 5 pm
Market and information stalls will be set up by locals to provide
information, services and environmentally friendly and/or sustainable
products.
The kidz-zone will provide activities throughout the day
Presentations and workshops will offer provocative and thoughtful information, discussions
and activities.
Many talented musicians support this event by performing for free, a rare chance to listen to a wide variety of live music.
Amazing images from around the earth on the big screen will demonstrate
our planets beauty and the impact humans have had upon its surface.

Environment themed movies will be showing in the evening to
wind down the day.

Global Warming Forum - Local Effects
Tuesday evening, 10th July 2007
- 6:45 for 7 pm start
What does global warming mean for our FNQ weather and economy. Which impacts and flow-on effects should we prepare for.
A public forum exploring likely global warming effects, bringing local relevance to this
global issue and exploring possible responses and solutions.
We intend to end up with a list of likely impacts and ideas on how to
deal with them, which we will present to councils and governments.
Come along, it is all of our future that is threatened

Vision FNQ 2025 - First Public Forum on the FNQ 2025 Plan
Wednesday evening, 11th July 2007
- 6:45 for 7 pm start
What is our vision for a sustainable future? What do we want FNQ to look
like in twenty years? Come and share your ideas for the statutory 2025
FNQ plan before the
draft is prepared. We intend to end up with a list of issues which we will
present to the state government planning team for their consideration
This is the only possibility for the public to be heard before the FNQ 2025 plan is drafted.
Entry
to all events is by gold coin donation to cover costs. This is
a not-for-profit event. Any surplus will be donated to related
causes.
